Lady Bucs soccer winning streak comes to an end

WHEELING — The Buckhannon-Upshur High School girls’ soccer team traveled to Wheeling on Saturday to face the Wheeling Park Patriots. The Lady Bucs’ winning streak came to an abrupt halt when they were defeated by the opposition. The Patriots finished with a final score of 3 and the Buccaneers with a score of 1. 

Wheeling Park’s Lilyan Hanna made the first goal at the 35th minute assisted by Merritt Delk. Hanna shot from 15 yards out and right over the B-UHS keeper’s head. Delk then scored the second goal for the Patriots in the 38th minute with a shot in the center of the box.

The Lady Bucs’ Cameron Zuliani scored the only goal for the game in the 54th minute. Unassisted, Zuliani shot from the left side to the top of the keeper’s box.

One minute later, the Patriot’s Hanna then scored again, assisted by Adlie Abraham.
