Lady Bucs run partial team at Doddridge County Cross Country Invitational

WEST UNION – With injuries mounting on the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc cross country team, head coach Jim Johnson only had four runners available at his disposal in the Doddridge County Invitational Tuesday.

Jessica Williams was the top Lady Buc runner taking 24th with a time of 20:24.89.

Jennifer Williams took 60th with a time of 28:16.40 for the Lady Bucs while Madelyn Frye ran 77th with a clocking of 30:36.43 and Leah Crihfield took 79th with a time of 30:49.79.

Williamstown took the top three spots with Ella Hesson winning the event with a time of 20:24.89 and teammates Chloe Lightfritz (21:05.71) and Natalie Sawin (21:14.04) taking second and third respectively.

Those three finishes helped Williamstown to the team title with 33 points while Elkins was second with 78.

St. Marys claimed third with 124 points, Doddridge County picked up four with 135 and Tyler Consolidated earned fifth with 144.

The Lady Bucs will host the Buccaneer Invitational Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
