Lady Bucs claim four wins as they take home meet

TENNERTON – Three individual wins and one relay victory propelled the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs to a championship in their six-team home meet here last Tuesday.

Kennedi Lewellyn won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.06, her sister Makenzi Lewellyn won the pole vault clearing 8-00 and Cameron Zuliani won the discus throw with a toss of 105-04.5.

The 4 x 400-meter relay unit of Zuliani, Yami Cerna, Makenzi Lewellyn and Kennedi Lewellyn also claimed a first with a time of 4:28.45.

The quartet of firsts gave the Lady Bucs 153 points for the team title, well ahead of second place University who amassed 97 points.

Petersburg and Elkins finished in a tie for third place with 89 points.

The Lady Bucs captured eight runner up spots – six individual and two relays.

Earning the individual seconds were Catherine Oliveto in the 200-meter dash (28.28) and the long jump (14-10.25), McKenzie Reynolds in the 300-meter hurdles (54.26), Kennedi Lewellyn in the pole vault (7-06), Kaitlyn Luterek in the shot put (29-02) and Breanna Morgan in the discus throw (94-04).

The two relay teams that took second were the 4 x 200-meter foursome of Cerna, Zuliani, Makenzi Lewellyn and Oliveto (1:58.31) and the 4 x 102.5-meter hurdle team of Kennedi Lewellyn, Reynolds, Zuliani and Iris Kolenich (1:13.77).

Earning a trio of third places was Kolenich in the 100-meter hurdles (17.79) and the high jump (4-08) and Makenzi Lewellyn in the 400-meter dash (1:05.34).

The one relay team to earn a third was the 4 x 100-meter foursome of Cerna, Jenny Williams, Kierra Arbogast and Kolenich (57.20).

The Lady Bucs were slated to compete in the Morgantown Invitational Saturday.

They will compete in their weekly home meet this Tuesday at 4 p.m.
