Lady Buc netters tumble to Wheeling Park, 7-0

WHEELING – The Buckhannon-Upshur tennis Lady Bucs made the trip to Wheeling on Wednesday and dropped a 7-0 decision to the Wheeling Park Patriots.

The Lady Bucs were without their top two single players, Autumn Cutright and Alexa Davis, forcing head coach Jason Rock to move everyone up two places in singles play.

“Autumn and Alexa couldn’t make the trip so every girl had to jump up two positions, which can be a big difference in skill and level of play,” noted Rock. “The scores don’t show the full story, but the girls competed hard and held their own against another tough regional opponent.”

The Lady Bucs, now 0-10, were slated to play Lewis County on Thursday.

They will play two today, hosting Philip Barbour at 10 a.m. and John Marshall at 1 pm.
