Lady Buc netters fall to Grafton, 5-2

BUCKHANNON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc tennis team lost a 5-2 decision to the Grafton Bearcats Monday evening in a home clash at the West Virginia Wesleyan tennis courts.

The Lady Bucs won both a match in singles and doubles action.

Picking up the singles win was No. 1 Autumn Cutright defeating Bethany Lipscomb by an 8-3 score.

The other win was at No. 3 doubles where Lainey Rowan and Tori Adams won by forfeit.

“The highlight of the match for me personally was Autumn winning her No. 1 singles match,” remarked Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Rock. “She is our only senior who has played all four years of her high school career so I’m really happy for her to get her first win.”

The loss dropped the Lady Bucs to 0-3 on the season.

They will play again today hosting Fairmont Senior.
