ATHENS — The West Virginia Wesleyan women’s basketball team dropped an 83-67 MEC verdict to Concord on Saturday.
The Lady Bobcats, who trailed by just four, at 56-52 after three quarters, went 26-of-78 (33 percent) from the field, while the Mountain Lions shot 34-of-58 (58 percent).
Concord outscored Wesleyan, 27-15 in the final quarter.
The Lady Bobcats were led by Victoria Jackson, Lana Long and Brittany Stawovy.
Jackson scored 13 points, followed by Long and Stawovy both with 11 each.
The Mountain Lions were led by Danielle Catron’s 19 points and Madison May’s 16.
Wesleyan is now 6-14 overall and 4-10 in MEC play.
The Lady Bobcats will return home at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to face the University of Charleston for another MEC encounter.
Concord improved to 10-8 overall and 7-7 in MEC action.
