Lady Bobcat swimmers win debut home tri-meet

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats picked up two victories over West Virginia Tech and Alderson Broaddus in their 2019 season debut last weekend in a home-tri meet.

The Lady ‘Cats won all 10 events during the home meet with Morgan Choffin and Amanda Schlor each winning two apiece.

Choffin won the 50-freestyle with a time of 26:46 and the 100-freestyle with a clocking of 57.32.

Schlor won the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:16.78 and the 200-IM with a clocking of 2:22.40.

Also picking up individual firsts were Ashton Cole in the 100-backstroke (1:05.93), Gigi Fusco in the 100-butterfly (1:06.14); Lillie Archer in the 200-freestyle (2:12.00) and Kay Lange in the 500-freestyle (5:37.39).

Wesleyan also claimed both relay races.

The Lady Bobcats were slated to compete in the West Virginia State games this past weekend.

They will return to the pool this Saturday hosting Frostburg State at 1 p.m.
