Lady Bobcat swimmers return to the pool, defeat Davis & Elkins, 105-98

ELKINS – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat swim team returned to the pool after a seven-week lay-off due to finals and the holidays with a positive outing this past Saturday against Davis & Elkins in the “Battle of the Hills.”

The Lady ‘Cats downed the Senators by a 105-98 score.

Wesleyan claimed six wins – four individual and two relays.

Earning the individual wins were Kay Lange in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:39.29), Gigi Fusco in the 200-yard butterfly (2:20.24); Morgan Choffin in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.56) and Amanda Schlor in the 200-yard IM (2:25.14).

Hannah Cook had a second place in the 100-yard freestyle (57.54) while Schlor took second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:46.18), Alyssa Serrano was runner-up in the 200-yard IM (2:28.15) and Lillie Archer was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:46.01).

Both the 200-yard freestyle and medley relay teams were victorious for the Lady ‘Cats.

Wesleyan will swim again this Saturday hosting Fairmont State at 1 p.m.
