Lady Bobcat lacrosse team drops tough 16-15 verdict to Wilmington


BUCKAHANNON — The West Virginia Wesleyan lacrosse team dropped a tough 16-15 decision to Wilmington (Del.) on Saturday.

The Lady Bobcats trailed by two goals, at 7-5, at the intermission.

Wesleyan eventually tied the game at 13-13 on Hannah Antonelli’s goal at the 13:33 mark but unfortunately could not take the lead.

Leading the Lady Bobcats was Antonelli with eight goals. She was complemented by Natalie Schaffner with four goals, Madison Duvall added a pair of scores and Lovely Ordonez-Lopez contributed one goal.

Wesleyan’s record is now 4-3-1 on the season.

The Lady Bobcats will host the Walsh Cavaliers at 5 p.m. Friday for their next contest and remain home at 2 p.m. Sunday to face the Franciscan Barons.
