Lady Bobcat golfers finish eighth at Glade Springs Championship


DANIELS – Sumire Ebioka finished eighth for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats to lead her squad in the 2019 Glade Springs Intercollegiate Championships at the Cobb Course at Glade Springs.

Ebioka shot an 81 on day one and a 78 on day two for a two-day total of 159.

Wesleyan’s Beverly Tootham placed 32nd with a 174 (85-89), Carleigh Bolyard finished 41st with a 178 (91-87), Emma Bryan took 55th with a 192 (97-95) and Genevia Brown placed 65th with a 221 (106-115).

Megan O’Mara of West Chester won low medalist honors with a 149 (75-74) while Maria Arenas of Gannon took runner-up honors with a 154 (77-77).

Gannon won the team title with a two-round total of 634 while Charleston finished second with a 646 and Notre Dame was third with a 649.

Wesleyan finished eight out of 12 teams with a 703.

The Lady Bobcats shot a 354 on day one and dropped their score to a 349 on day two.

Wesleyan will return to action on Monday and Tuesday at the Wally Edgell Invitational at Canaan Valley.
