BUCKHANNON – In the world of Acro & Tumbling, there might not be a larger gap in a score than what the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats put on the NAIA Georgetown College Tigers this past Friday.
The Lady Bobcats won the event by a 238.86-140.25 score, picking up their first win of the season.
In the compulsory event, Wesleyan took a 33.20-25.20 lead.
They scored an 8.80 in the acro heat, a 9.20 in the pyramid heat, a 9.30 in the toss heat and a 5.90 in the tumbling heat.
Wesleyan kept the momentum going in the acro winning all three heats outscoring Georgetown by a 28.15-21.50 score.
They scored a 9.85 in heat one, a 9.35 in heat two and an 8.95 in heat three.
In the pyramid, the Lady Bobcats again made it a complete sweep taking all three heats.
They scored a 9.50 in the inversion, a 9.40 in the synchronized and a 9.65 in the open.
They led at the break by an 89.90-70.45 score.
In the toss, Wesleyan outscored Georgetown by a 26.10-25.40 margin winning all three heats.
They tallied an 8.15 in the 450 salto, an 8.85 in the synchronized and a 9.10 in the open.
Wesleyan extended their lead after the tumbling event taking it by a 48.95-44.40 score.
They won five of the six events, winning the duo pass with an 8.15, the trio pass with a 7.95 score, the quad pass with a 6.90, the aerial pass with an 8.625 and the 6-element pass with a 9.325. They lost the open pass by an 8.175-8.00 score.
Wesleyan scored a 73.91 in the team event as Georgetown did not perform causing the wide gap in the final score.
The Lady ‘Cats (1-3) will compete again Sunday, when they visit Glenville State for a 2 p.m. contest.
