Kyle L. Cochran, age 84, of the Tennerton community, departed this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at his home under the care of West Virginia Home Health and Hospice.
He was born on June 8, 1935, in Adrian, a son of the late French Cochran and Marjorie Jane Lane Blankenship. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather Millard “Mino” Blankenship.
On July 25, 1959, he was united in marriage to Jean McKisic Cochran, who preceded him in death on November 30, 2006. He is survived by his brothers-in-law: Max McKisic and wife Carol and Joe McKisic and wife Martha; cousins: Charlotte and husband Leon Cooke and family of North Carolina, Steve Lamb of San Diego, CA; and his many friends in the Masonic Lodges.
Kyle was a veteran of the US Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife Jean owned and operated R and B Casket Company for 18 years. He was also employed by the WV Division of Highways for many years and retired from the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office in 1997. He was a member of Franklin Lodge No. 7 A.F. & A.M. and served as the Grand Master of West Virginia in 2000-2001.
Friends may call on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 5-8:00 p.m., at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ken Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park where Masonic graveside rites will be conducted. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.heavnerandcutright.com.
