TENNERTON — Kristina Jenean Swecker, 32, of Cleveland, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov.27, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Upshur County on Nov. 7, 1985, a daughter of Jeff and Karen Moffatt Swecker, who survive.

Also surviving is one brother Jonas Swecker and wife Trishany of Culloden, W.Va.; maternal grandparents:  Don and Opalene Moffatt of Webster Springs; paternal grandparents:  Edwell and Roxie Swecker of Cleveland; her loving boyfriend Jonathan Alsop of Huntington; niece Aubree and nephew Owen; several cousins; and countless friends.

Kristina was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and was one of the YES Club leaders and a cheerleading coach at Hacker Valley Elementary School.  She fought a hard, life-long battle against cystic fibrosis.  She remained positive throughout her illness, never letting it slow her down, and even organized many Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fundraisers.  She was a Christian, saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and was an active member of the Hacker Valley Baptist Church, where she loved to sing to her Lord.  She enjoyed teaching and coordinating Vacation Bible School at her church and loved to play music.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, from 4-7 p.m., at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel.   The body will be moved to the Hacker Valley Baptist Church on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, where she will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m., the funeral hour with Evangelist Alva Blankenship and Pastor John Elbert officiating.  Interment will follow in the Replete Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, http://fightcf.cff.org/site/TR?px=2409257&fr_id=6129&pg=personal.

Online condolences may be extended to the Swecker family at www.heavnerandcutright.com.  The Swecker family has entrusted the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel with the arrangements.
