Karen had an amazing passion for life and for her family; she loved them deeply and dedicated her life to their well-being and happiness. Some of Karen’s favorite times were ones spent on a porch with her loved ones; she always lent a wise and helpful ear and gave the best advice.
Norman L. Mills passed away on Sept. 28, 2016 after a long struggle with dementia. Norman was born to Marie Goodwin and Claude Mills in Buckhannon, W.Va. on Dec. 31, 1936.
Norman entered the Navy in 1955 and served until 1959, mostly serving in the Mediterranean as a mechanic. Norman loved sharing special moments with his family; even in his later years he could be found engaging his great grandchildren and making them smile. He had a truly kind spirit and cared deeply for his family.
Karen and Norm were married on Oct. 2, 1959 in Buckhannon. Together they raised a family with six children. Their lives took them on many journeys including living in Ohio, Florida, Virginia and then finally retiring in 2002 to Bridgeport.
They are survived by their six children: Cherie, Kathy (Rick), Patrick, Pamela (Frank), Douglas (Cecil) and Barbara (Donald), her five grandchildren: Ashley (Phillip), Sean, Andrew (Heather), Taylor (David) and Brian and her four great-grandchildren: Rylee, Korie, Paxton and Leona. Karen had two sisters: JoAnne and Phoebe (Ray). Norman had five brothers: Leroy, Kenneth, Claude Jr., Buddy and Sam and two sisters: Georgie and JoAnne.
