JV Little Lady Bucs fall to Mountaineer, 31-20


TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs fell behind in the second period of their junior varsity game with Mountaineer (Morgantown) here last Wednesday and wound up dropping a 31-20 decision.

They trailed by just a 4-3 edge in the opening stanza, but were outscored by a 13-2 spread in the second quarter, putting them down by a 17-5 count at the half.

They claimed the final two periods by 9-8 and 7-6 margins.

Hannah Boyles led the scoring with six Points, with Callie Lantz tallying five, Ava Hollen, Alivia Barton, Harley Dean and Alyssa Abel adding two apiece, and HodgeNay Henderson contributing one.

The Little Lady Bucs saw their record drop to 2-3 going into Tuesday’s clash at South. They were to return home to face Bridgeport Thursday.
