JV Little Bucs pound Philippi in 60-21 victory

TENNERTON – Jaden Westfall fired in 13 points here last Tuesday night to pace the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Buccaneers to a 60-21 junior varsity triumph over the Philippi Bulldogs.

It was the second straight victory for the Little Bucs, improving their record to 3-6 heading into Thursday night’s match-up at Lincoln. They will be at home with Washington Irving tonight and with Taylor County Wednesday.

The Little Bucs stormed into a 16-4 first-quarter lead, with Michael Farrar pouring in seven markers, Westfall tallying four, Jonas Barton adding three and Carter Zuliani contributing two.

With Westfall tossing in five points, Ian Strader and Barton banging in four apiece, Easton Perkins chipping in with three and Nathaniel Ringer adding two, the Little Bucs claimed the second canto to build a 25-point lead, at 34-9, at intermission.

They continued their dominance with a 12-6 third period and a 14-6 fourth stanza.

Rounding out their scoring were Barton and Farrar with nine markers apiece, Bryson Johnston, Strader and Zuliani each with six, Ringer with four, Perkins with three, and Donnen and Landon Marple with two each.
