JV Little Bucs drop 34-22 decision to Knights

GRAFTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle Schoool Little Buccaneers  dropped a 34-22 decision to Taylor County’s Knights here last Monday night in a junior varsity match-up.

The Little Bucs trailed by just an 8-6 count after one period, but were outscored by a 15-8 spread in the second stanza to put them down by nine, at 23-14, at the half.

They managed only an Ian Strader bucket in the third quarter, which went to the Knights by a 7-2 margin, and went into the final six minutes trailing by a 30-16 spread.

The Little Bucs claimed the fourth canto by a 6-4 edge on two goals by Jaden Westfall and one By Nathaniel Ringer.

Westfall led the scoring with eight points. He was followed by Jonas Barton with six, Ian Strader with four, and Luke Yardley and Ringer each with two.

The Little Bucs fell to 1-3. They will entertain South Tuesday night, and then go to Bridgeport Thursday.
