Junior varsity Little Lady Bucs fall to Trinity at the buzzer


MORGANTOWN – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School junior varsity Little Lady Bucs lost a heartbreaker in their season debut against the homestanding Trinity Warriors Thursday night at the buzzer.

Leading 18-16, Trinity fired in a three-pointer for the win.

The Little Lady Bucs raced out to a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter with Avi Travise scoring three points and Lainey Rohr and Kylie Hull each putting in a basket.

The Little Lady Bucs won the second quarter by a 6-4 margin and led at the half by a 13-4 score.

Shaylee Hebb had four points and Bralynn Gaudy two for the Little Lady Bucs in the second quarter.

Both teams struggled in the third quarter offensively as Trinity won the quarter by a 3-2 score.

Travise has the lone basket for the Little Lady Bucs as they still led by a 15-7 score going into the fourth quarter.

Hebb had all three points for B-UMS as they lost the quarter by a 12-3 score.

Hebb led the Little Lady Bucs in scoring with seven points while Travise had five.

The Little Lady Bucs’ game today with Elkins was  canceled.
