Junior varsity Little Lady Bucs fall to Mountaineer


MORGANTOWN – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs failed to score in the first three quarters here Dec. 9 and wound up tumbling to Mountaineer (Morgantown) by a 50-4 count in junior varsity basketball action.

Mountaineer scored 17 in the opening quarter, nine in the second period and 12 in the third stanza to take a 38-0 lead into the final six minutes.

Brooklyn Smith turned in a three-point play and Olivia Shipley made good on one of two free throws for Buckhannon’s scoring in the fourth canto.

The Little Lady Bucs were to have gone to Bridgeport Thursday to face the Lady Braves.
