Janice Mae Light, 80, of Jane Lew, passed away on November 21, 2019 in Bridgeport, WV.
She was born in Weston on September 11, 1939, to the late Gerald Franklin and Gwendolyn Pearl Davidson Moore. Along with her parents, Janice was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Richard Jerry Light; and sisters: Patricia Weaver and Judy Shuttlesworth.
After graduating Weston High School, Janice devoted her life to being a wife to her late husband, Richard, a mother to her only son, Steven Light and his wife, Teresa, a grandmother to her only granddaughter Bella Light and caring for her home. She was a member of Broad Street Methodist Church in Weston.
She very generously volunteered many hours at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill UMC and New Bethel UMC.
Janice enjoyed traveling, playing Bridge with friends, crocheting, a good glass of wine, and most of all being a Grammy.
She is also survived by her sister, Mary Alice Ebert and husband, Don; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Smokey.
Family and friends will gather at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019. Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Plum officiating. Following the services, Janice’s request for cremation will be honored.
