TENNERTON — Howard Dale Simmons, 74, of French Creek, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in the St. Joseph’s Hospital suddenly from surgical complications.
Born March 4, 1943 at Adrian, he was the son of the late Otto James and Mary Marie Demastes Simmons.
Howard was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Army with the 1st infantry division, retired press operator for Moore’s Business forms with over 27 years of service, member of the Carter DAV, Christian by faith, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His children were truly the light of his life.
Left to cherish his whitty and joking personality are his wife of 47 years, Ketha Tenney Simmons; four children, Todd Simmons, of Hackers Creek, Tonya Miller and husband Brook, of Fairmont, Scott Simmons and wife Lynn, of Buckhannon, and Tammy Whitlock, of North Carolina; one brother, James Simmons and wife Connie, of French Creek; 13 grandchildren, Jamie Poling and husband Justin, Rachel Ball and husband Adam, Josh Curtis, Chris Curtis and wife Kristen, Taylor Miller, Jordyn and Adison Simmons, Amber and Spencer Dulaney, Logan and Briana Teter; three great-grandchildren and one expecting great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. in the Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral and Cremation 21 Elnora Circle Buckhannon, WV 26201. Immediately following at 7 p.m., the funeral service will held with Pastor Kara Phillippi officiating. Cremation services will be honored following the services.
