Hit and run on South Florida Street

This car was parked on South Florida Street when a truck struck it and left.

BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man is facing charges from leaving a scene of an accident and driving on a revoked license because of DUI second offense Sunday. The report from the Buckhannon Police Department said Sgt. Thomas Posey was dispatched at 6:37 p.m. to the hit and run on South Florida Street. Posey said the victim, Maria Fabbricatore Andrews, 55, and a child were sitting in her black 2007 Ford Focus after parking. A truck struck her vehicle and then left the scene. She stated it stopped up the block and possibly drove away. EMS located the vehicle near 73 S Florida St. Posey  drove to the scene of the second vehicle and there was damage consistent with the hit and run. The vehicle was locked and abandoned. Posey had the vehicle towed by Buckhannon Towing.

On Dec. 3, Howard James Davis, 47, turned himself in at the BPD. He confessed to Lt. Loudin in reference to his role in the incident. The 1993 GMC K1500 was released from the tow yard. Upshur County EMS and Buckhannon Fire Department were also paged out.
