BUCKHANNON — Sweet A Licious has big plans to spread a little joy to all Upshur County students and staff this spring, but they still need some help from the community to make it happen. Sweet A Licious will be traveling to all schools in Upshur County, as well as the Board of Education Office, via their ice cream truck to provide free ice cream treats and novelty items to every student and school employee in the county next month.
This is just one of the many ways Sweet A Licious has strived to help spread joy around the community since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are currently asking for donations to help purchase the products, while the shop will be providing the ice cream truck, gas, time and labor to visit all nine locations throughout the county.
Since the beginning of March, they have raised approximately $2,300. However, they’re still in need of $1,500 in order to serve a choice of free treats to each of the approximate 3,800 individuals. “If everyone got the cheapest thing on the menu, it would be like $2,400. If everyone got the most expensive thing I offer on the truck it was $6,400,” explained Sweet A Licious Owner Michelle Jack. They will be accepting donations until Wednesday, March 31. “We need a strong finish,” Jack stated, as she is hopeful others will help make this goal a reality.
Donations can be made in person at the shop on Main Street, via PayPal by the following link https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/SweetALiciousWV or visit their Facebook page “Sweet A Licious” for a direct link.
