BUCKHANNON — The Record Delta is excited to welcome Alison Harrison to the team as our newest writer and reporter. The daughter of Kevin and Jeani Hawkins, Harrison is a life-long resident of Upshur County. She is a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and Fairmont State University.
New to the field of journalism, Harrison has primarily worked in the social work field, utilizing her degrees in psychology and sociology. Harrison and her husband Rodney also previously owned a West Virginia small business located in Upshur County. She was an active participant of the Buckhannon-Wesleyan swim team from age five until graduating high school and still enjoys lounging by the Upshur County pool in her free time during the summer months. Riding UTVs is another favorite activity that she enjoys with her husband. Harrison also enjoys reading classic novels and watching old movies in her spare time. Harrison is a devoted dog mom to her German Shepherd and English Bulldogs. She has two young nephews that she enjoys watching play baseball and basketball for Upshur County teams. Enthusiastic about her new position with the Record Delta, Harrison is looking forward to becoming actively involved in her home community in a new facet.
