Hard rear-end wreck at stoplight by Walmart

BUCKHANNON — One man was injured in a two-vehicle wreck that happened Friday afternoon on Route 20 in front of Sheetz.

The accident transpired at approximately 2:04 p.m., when a white 2006 Toyota RAV 4 driven by Robin Page, 50, of Buckhannon stopped for a yellow light on the four-lane in front of Sheetz, according to investigating officer Lt. Doug Loudin with the Buckhannon Police Department.

A blue 2014 Ford Focus driven by Jeffrey Marfield, 26, of Buckhannon was behind Page and attempted to stop but did not brake fast enough, colliding with the back of the RAV 4. Both vehicles were headed south on Route 20, Loudin said.

Marfield was injured in the accident, but refused medical transport, Loudin said.

Neither party was cited; however, Loudin said the accident was still under investigation as of late Friday afternoon. Upshur County EMS and the Buckhannon Fire Department also responded to the call.
