This will be there first trip to the state championship since the 2016 season.

The Bucs shot a 250 to earn the berth as the state takes the top two teams from each region to the championship.

“I am extremely proud to go to the state tournament with this group,” remarked Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Westfall. “They have worked hard and stayed true to their goals.”

For the Bucs, Evan Coffman and Isaac Lane both finished with top five spots as they ended the round in a tie for fourth place as both golfers carded identical 79s.

“Evan and Isaac have led us all year and they played well again here,” said Westfall. “Their experience has showed, and they are getting stronger each round they play.”

Landon Hitt’s 92 scored for the Bucs while Tucker Hurst carded a 94 for Buckhannon-Upshur.

“Landon and Tucker are consistent in their roles for us,” stated Westfall. “They have been huge for us on the back end of the line-up.”
