Goldsmith held on large bond

BUCKHANNON  One Upshur County resident current resides at Tygart Valley Regional Jail after violating a domestic bond. Ricky Allen Goldsmith, age 37, is held on a $25,000 cash only bond.

According to court documentation, Upshur County Sheriff’s Department’s Chief Deputy Mike Coffman and Deputy Tanner Collins spoke to a person about a Domestic Violence incident on Saturday evening. The victim stated that the defendant, later identified as Goldsmith, had been staying with them in a camper on Hackers Creek Road.

As stated in the criminal complaint, the victim stated they stayed at a relative’s residence to stay away from the defendant. The defendant entered in the back door of the residence and came into the bedroom where the complainant was staying. The person stated the defendant became irate toward her and her relative.

While speaking to Deputies, the complainant stated that she was unaware that the terms of the defendant’s bond included a no contact with her by Goldsmith. Deputy Coffman confirmed the no contact agreement in the original bond 21-M49M-01108, in which the defendant signed acknowledging his understanding to have no contact with the person.

Goldsmith is facing charges of Domestic battery in the first degree and two offenses of Violation of Domestic Bond.
