BUCKHANNON — A French Creek man was arrested on Tuesday, July 26, following a domestic incident that occurred on Marion Street in Buckhannon earlier that month.
According to court documentation, Buckhannon Police Sergeant Marshall O’Connor responded to the above location after a victim reported a male subject allegedly and unlawfully entered her residence before committing acts identified as domestic violence. Sgt. O’Connor arrived at a residence to speak to the alleged victim.
The criminal complaint states that on Sunday, July 10, the male subject, later identified as 37-year-old Kenneth Henry Knight Jr., allegedly used bodily force to enter the victim’s residence. The use of force caused a dent in the front door of the residence. This damage was noted by Sgt. O’Connor.
The additional complaint states that after allegedly gaining access to the residence the defendant caused the victim to fear for her immediate safety. According to the statement given to O’Connor, Knight allegedly backed the victim into a corner and threatened to “smash her head into the wall if she calls the law.”
Following an official statement to Sgt. O’Connor, Kenneth Knight Jr. was arrested and is now facing one count of Burglary, one count of Domestic Assault and one count of Domestic Battery in the second offense. Knight is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
