Four-way tie for first place in summer basketball league


TENNERTON – Defending champion Ralph’s Furniture had a big Thursday in the Hybrid Grading Approach Summer Basketball League.

Ralph’s Furniture, in their first action of the year, had a doubleheader on Thursday and won both of their games by double digits.

They beat High Point Construction by a 105-87 score with Jordan Haywood scoring a team-high 28 points and they followed that up with an 86-43 destruction over My Buckhannon by an 86-43 score with Josh Allen scoring a game-best 34 points in the win.

Ryan Hurst had a game-high 33 points for High Point Construction in their setback to Ralph’s Furniture while Ryan Strader had 26 points to lead My Buckhannon.

KBAM Builders had an easy time in a 72-32 win over Gold Standard Cleaning with Jordan Watson leading the way with 12 points. Darius Dillard paced Gold Standard Cleaning with 15 points.

In the other game on Thursday, Maniac Mountain defeated Top Line Apparel by a 103-54 score.

Justin Lee led Maniac Mountain with 25 points while JD Sharp had 15 points to lead Top Line Apparel.

Thursday’s games were moved inside to the B-UHS aux gym.

Wednesday’s contests were rained out leaving three teams without a game thus far.

There is a four-way tie for first place with KBAM Builders, Maniac Mountain, Ralph’s Furniture and TKS Contracting all with 2-0 records.

There were three games scheduled on tap for Friday evening.

The league will take the weekend off and be back in action Monday with a trio of games.
