Forbrick earns NCBWA All-Atlantic Regional baseball honors


URBANA (Ohio) —Twelve players from the Mountain East Conference have earned All-Atlantic Region honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Associate (NCBWA), including nine first-team selections.

Fairmont State's Michael Stout was placed on the First Team as a pitcher and Notre Dame's Todd Marshall was a First Team reliever.

The All-Region First Team had Concord's Jordan Clark behind the plate, Shepherd's Eddie Nottingham at first, Charleston's Gianfranco Morrello at second and Concord's Anthony Stehlin at short.

Brenton Doyle and Jared Carr of Shepherd were first team outfielders, and SU's Justin Smith was on the team as a utility player.

Shepherd's Syeed Mahdi was a second team third baseman, while West Virginia Wesleyan's Eric Forbrick and Charleston's Colby Johnson were on the second team as outfielders.

Fobrick led Wesleyan at the plate with a .363 batting average and 12 home runs.
