Flu-stricken Bucs fall at No. 7 Colts


PHILIPPI — With several players recovering from the flu bug, Buckhannon-Upshur dropped a 78-45 decision to Class  AA, No. 7 Philip Barbour Friday night in Big 10 Conference play.

The Bucs of first-year head coach Travis Foster are now 4-9 overall and 3-5 in Big 10 games. They are scheduled to visit sectional foe Morgantown at 7:30 p.m. today.

The Colts (9-2, 6-2 Big 10) outscored B-U in every quarter and carried a 45-25 lead into the intermission. The advantage was 59-36 after three quarters.

Brayden Cutlip was the lone player in double figures for the Bucs with 10 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds. Dawson Lilly just missed double figures with nine points, Taylor Whitehair tallied seven points, two assists and two steals and Greyson Shepherd had a team-high four steals.

David Shriver drilled six 3-pointers to finish with 25 points for Philip Barbour. Cole Whited added 18 points and nine rebounds and Noah Price chipped in with 11 points.
