Floy Belle “Sis” Burr, age 86, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on June 14, 1934, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late John Roosevelt and Zeta Viola Loudin Hurst. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband, Howard Burr; three brothers: Robert D., Billy D., and John O. Hurst; one sister, Emma Jean Elmer; and son-in-law, Gary Kimble.
She is survived by two sons: Danny Burr and wife Anna of Buckhannon and Thomas Burr and wife Pam of French Creek; two daughters: Teddi and husband Jim Seidl of Philippi and Sherry Kimble of Buckhannon; and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Sis was a caregiver for most of her life and especially enjoyed caring for the elderly. She was an avid Bingo and Dominoes player, as well as a champion horseshoe-thrower. She enjoyed being with family, playing cornhole and volleyball, and shopping at yard sales.
The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at the Laurel Fork Cemetery.
