Fire destroys home on Bill Grose Road


ADRIAN — One home was destroyed after a fire engulfed the residence located on Bill Grose Road in the afternoon hours Tuesday.

Adrian Volunteer Fire Chief Chuck Rutherford explained the call came in at approximately 12:33 p.m. and the Adrian Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) was on scene by approximately 12:36 p.m. AVFD was assisted by Banks District Volunteer Fire Department, Washington District Volunteer Fire Department and Buckhannon Fire Department.

According to Rutherford’s report, there were no injuries but the home is a total loss. The home owners stated they believe the fire originated on or near the front porch. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and the West Virginia State Fire Marshal will be investigating.

Thanks to the combined efforts of multiple departments, the fire was completely extinguished by approximately 1:08 p.m. with no calls of re-kindling.
