BUCKHANNON — What a perfect evening for the commencement of the 2022 Festival Fridays! With the perfect temperature, Jawbone Park saw a fantastic turnout for this year’s first festival.
Many vendors were lined up underneath the Walk of Valor banners at Jawbone, while the Buckhannon-Upshur High School’s band played for everyone to enjoy. The Tennerton Lions Club was setup with goodies and a gun raffle. The Faith Tabernacle had food available for purchase as well. Fred Brooks Garden Club had plants for sale and just a few steps away was the Upshur County Farmer’s Market.
There were also some fun activities set up in the grass for children. Cornhole, bowling pins, bubbles and Frisbees were made available to play with throughout the duration of the evening. Raffles were being sold at most of the vendors for gift baskets, guns and more.
If visitors have not had the chance to eat one of Create Buckhannon’s chicken dinners, which included baked beans, a baked potato and a cookie – be sure to try again next Friday! Attendees do not want to miss it. For just $15 (cash or card), you can enjoy live music, fun activities and a delicious chicken dinner all in one place (activities free of charge).
Festival Fridays will be every Friday with different activities and music to enjoy. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the nice weather with family and friends. Thank you to all the sponsors, supporters and vendors who have continued to do such a great job in giving the community something so wonderful.
