Family feud causes crash in Queens

QUEENS — An ongoing family dispute was to blame for a two-vehicle accident earlier today. A 39-year-old Buckhannon woman was allegedly at fault and cited with a left of center traffic violation, following the wreck that occurred on the Queens Road, near Lanham Cemetery Road.

Effie Tenney was reportedly driving a Chevrolet Silverado when she struck an older model Chevrolet truck with a dump bed, driven by Patrick Light.

According to Cpl. Pyles of the WVSP, this incident stemmed from an ongoing family dispute. When the two drivers met on the roadway in Queens, “Neither would give way and struck each other and a spat ensued before I arrived on scene,” Pyles stated.

Light was transported by Upshur EMS with unknown injuries before he could be interviewed by the investigating officer. Therefore, the only report of the incident came from Tenney and witnesses at the scene. Cpl. Pyles indicated that the investigation will be ongoing, which may lead to further charges.

Upshur EMS, WVSP and Washington District VFD were all dispatched to the scene in Queens. Tennerton Towing also had two trucks on site to remove both of the vehicles involved in the accident.
