Edith Mae Phillips

BUCKHANNON — Edith Mae Phillips, 89, of French Creek, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born Aug. 17, 1928 in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Claude and Gladys Kelley Ours.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Brenis Phillips. 

She is survived by two sons, David Phillips and wife Barbara, of Rock Cave, and Brenis Junior Phillips, of Parkersburg; two grandsons, Brad Phillips, of Weston, and Greg Phillips, of Salisbury, N.C.; one great-grandson, Isaiah Phillips, of Salisbury; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Phillips, of Salisbury and one brother Paul Ours and wife Susan, of Buckhannon.

Mrs. Phillips was a seamstress and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. Friends will be received today, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor David Jessie and Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Elbon Cemetery in Sago.
