BUCKHANNON - On Thursday, the second Upshur County Drug Round Up was completed without incident. Organized by members of the Mountain Lakes Drug and Violent Crime Unit, this Drug Round Up included officers from Upshur County Sheriff’s Department, Buckhannon Police Department, and WVSP Buckhannon and Weston detachments. Officers arrested multiple subjects for various drug offenses, including Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a Protected Area, and Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance. These arrests are the culmination of drug investigations that began earlier this year by the MLDVC Unit. This is the second such Drug Round Up since the Unit’s inception in May 2018, which has yielded more than 50 felony drug arrests in Upshur County.
Subjects arrested are as follows: Candy Suttle, Lucas Unger, Wesley Mayes, Brandon McCartney, John Shipman, Ashley Sipe, Robin Norris, Chad Hayes, Garry Morgan, and Johnna Courtney.
Drug seizures during this round up include fifty-three heroin stamps, one hundred dosage units of controlled substances, one-quarter ounce of marijuana, sixty-two grams of methamphetamine, and several thousand dollars in counterfeit US currency. Total street value of illegal drugs seized is $8,350.00.
Officers are still actively seeking Aman Sweilam, Timothy Strickland, Keith Johnson, Thomas Lowe, and Dustin Landis for drug trafficking charges. Timothy Strickland should be considered armed and dangerous.
