Drowsy driver wrecks on Rt. 33


A single vehicle accident occurred Monday morning near Huddle House

BUCKHANNON — A single vehicle accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday, July 1. The vehicle was traveling east on Route 33 when the wreck occurred. The 1998 Toyota Camry was driven by Kyle Hunter Davis, age 21, of Buckhannon.

According to the accident report, Davis said he fell asleep and ran off the road. The car reportedly struck a guardrail after swerving to the right, where there was indication of braking with skid marks at the site. The sedan sustained disabling damage and Precision Towing removed it from the scene. The accident happened just east of the Huddle House of Buckhannon. The Camry ended up in the median between the Huddle House and the stop light intersection of Brushy Fork Road. Officer T.M. Stewart and Chief Matt Gregory of the Buckhannon City Police responded to and investigated the accident. The driver reportedly refused medical transport.
