Driver flees after Route 20 accident

BUCKHANNON — An investigation is underway after a call came in at approximately 10:21 a.m. on Friday, regarding a two-car accident near Good Hope Tabernacle on Route 20 south. The southbound lane of Route 20 was shut down briefly to allow for investigation and clean-up of the scene.

Corporal Wright of the West Virginia State Police responded to the scene. According to his report, a black Shelby Mustang had rear-ended a blue Chevy Sonic. The incident occurred just before the Good Hope Tabernacle entrance on Route 20 South. Following the incident, the driver of the black vehicle fled the scene on foot.

Wright reported that there were no injuries noted and Adrian Fire Department was also on scene to help. Wright reported the accident is still pending investigation at this time.
