Drive-thru COVID-19 testing yields zero positive results

BUCKHANNON — According to the Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department, the COVID-19 Drive-thru testing held on July 10-11 yielded zero positive results.

Administrator and Nurse Director Sue McKisic reported, “We had 801 people tested at both sites in Upshur County.  This number is for both days of testing.  We have received all results back and they are negative, 0 positive results.” 

A Tuesday statement from the health department confirmed 36 cases of COVID-19 in Upshur County with two probables (36/2).  Of those, nine were reported as currently active on July 28, with one being hospitalized and many due to soon come off quarantine.  No deaths due to coronavirus have been documented in Upshur County and 29 individuals have recovered. 

Testing can be obtained locally by calling your private provider and they can send an order for lab testing.  As a reminder, please call (304) 473-2161, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. before going to the hospital for testing.
