Delbert Colter King


Delbert Colter King, born May 22, 1942, in Parkersburg, to Ross and Lena (Allman) King. He grew up in Buckhannon and passed away peacefully on May 26, 2019 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was the son of Russ Lauden King, Jr., Lena Myrl Allman King of Buckhannon.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer A. King with whom he resided and grandson  Orrin Colter Chapin; sons D. Lee King and wife Roma, Jonathon of Painsville, Ohio; grandson, Orrin; granddaughter, Brighton Harper King of Columbus, Ohio His daughter Theresa A. King Jackson and husband Vaughn of Maryland, Debbie A. King Lilly and husband Keith of Maryland. Del (Deb) also leaves behind his brother Ross (Karen) King; sisters Kathleen (Bob) Weaver, Marlene (Ed) Brandon, Colleen Posey, Barbara (Pat) McVicker and many nephews and nieces.

Del was a driver and mechanic for many companies in Maryland and Ohio before he retired.

A memorial service will be held in Buckhannon on June 29 and hosted by Ross and Karen King at 98 Needlepoint Dr.
