David Reid Miller

GASSAWAY — David Reid Miller, 58, of Gassaway, passed away Dec. 23, 2018.

He was born in Kanawha County on Nov. 20, 1960 to Joy Hayes Miller of Bridgeport and the late William “Bill” Crawford Miller. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Connie Williams.

David was employed at Pizza Hut for many years then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Clarksburg, Gassaway and Frametown.  He was a Master Sergent E-7 in the Air National Guard 130th, Charleston, W.Va. and Air National Guard 171st, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He was a good couch potato but he also worked at many woodworking projects.  David was a member of Gassaway Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara Tomey Miller; his son, Casey William Miller of Gassaway; brother, Fred Miller of Alabama; sister, Ruthann Greathouse, of Fairmont; couch partner, Sadie, his dog.

Service was at noon Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Pastor Mark Stump and Pastor Bill Morlan officiating. Interment with Military Rites will be in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens, Elkins.

Visitation was 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at the funeral home.
