BUCKHANNON — Local resident Charles Cutright, 49, was arrested Friday evening on charges of misdemeanor assault and destruction of property charges.
Buckhannon City Police Department’s Lieutenant Doug Loudin responded to a call on December 31, 2021 from Sheetz about an assault, in which the subject was described as a bald man wearing a brown jacket. When Lt. Loudin arrived on scene, he located the subject, later identified as Cutright, knocking items off the counters and striking the clear protectors hung above the counters used for COVID-19 protection. Loudin then detailed the subject and took him outside.
According to the criminal complaint, statements from the victim and witnesses claimed Cutright was making threats to an employee working behind the counter in the kitchen, known as the Made-To-Order area. Cutright used vulgar language and threatened the employee, while proceeding toward the employee gate entrance of the kitchen. The Sheetz security video showed Cutright throwing items at the employees before meeting the employee at the swinging door.
The defendant has been charged with a misdemeanor for assault and destruction of property.
Cutright was detained and transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $2,500 cash or surety bond.
