BUCKHANNON — Upshur County residents and surrounding visitors have been flocking to visit Buckhannon Kroger this week following the store’s reopening with extensive renovations.
Residents have been waiting patiently—and some impatiently—for the reopening of Kroger after a fire caused significant smoke damage and closed the store unexpectedly back in early May. Following the closure, crews began working tirelessly to get the store into a new updated layout that would give the local grocer a new look.
The store officially reopened on Wednesday, July 7 with normal operating hours, offering a few new additions for its loyal customers. You can now find fresh sushi and wine sections, as well as Kroger Pickup, updated pharmacy and fresh produce areas, and new cart storage offering easier entrance into the building. These upgrades are in addition to a shiny new floor and upgraded meat refrigeration.
The store also now offers Kroger Pickup, a convenient new service that will bring your groceries right out to your vehicle without ever entering the store. For those who have never used any form of pick-up service, this is how you can utilize Kroger Pickup. Start by placing an order through the free mobile Kroger app or Kroger.com. Then choose your pick-up day and a one-hour arrival time slot. Shop for any item carried in store and add the items to your online cart, then load any applicable digital coupons.
After placing your order, you can modify it by adding or deleting items until 11:59 p.m. the day before your pickup. Arrive at Kroger within your one-hour window, follow the instructions on the sign in your parking stall and pop your trunk, then get back into your car. An associate will come out and load your groceries for you. It is best to place your Kroger Pickup order up to three days in advance.
Visit the Buckhannon Kroger store today and take advantage of all the new amenities.
