Cross Country Lady Bobcats run third; Madison Frame places 10th at MEC meet


WHEELING – West Virginia Wesleyan’s Madison Frame ran eighth to lead the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats in the Mountain East Conference Country Championships that were held Saturday on the Grispin Golf Course at the Oglebay Resort.

Frame ran a time of 24:45.0. Her top 10 finish garnered her All-MEC First Team honors.

Davis & Elkins had all five runners in the top 10 to win the women's cross country title in their first year in the MEC with 25 points.

The Senators were led by Claire Otte on the day who won the race with a time of 23:24 on the 6,000-meter course.

Svea Timm was third (23:43), followed by Anya Miller in fifth (24:24), Madison Michels in sixth (24:26) and Kloe Littleman in 10th (25:00).

Hannah Kemp of West Liberty took second (23;33.0) while Lindsay Scheffel of Wheeling placed fourth (24:21.2.)

West Liberty was runner-up with 63 points, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan in third (74), Charleston in fourth (108) and Wheeling fifth (114).

For Wesleyan, they had three other runners earn top 20 finishes 69-person race.

Tori Carr took 13th with a time of 25:28.6, Rachael Englund placed 14th with a time of 25:29.2 and Alexis Imperial finished 18th with a clocking of 26:07.8.

Lauren Chickoksy finished out the scoring for the Lady Bobcats running 21st with a time of 26:30.7.

The other two Lady Bobcats to compete were Lexi Beach in 26th (27:06.3) and Alexa Gorondy in 36th (27:59.5.)

Timm was voted as the league's Freshman of the Year and Runner of the Year.

Senators head coach Jason Pyles was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.
