Create Buckhannon collects snacks for frontline hospital workers

BUCKHANNON — As many of you know, St. Joseph’s Hospital is at capacity with COVID cases. The staff is stressed due to the increased workload and being understaffed. This situation has many staff members working overtime to cover the shifts. Many staff members don’t have time for a break or time to have lunch or dinner.

Create Buckhannon would like to help by providing food items to place in the break rooms, so staff can grab something to eat on the run and continue to care for the patients.

The organization is asking for donated items to help show the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital appreciation and to help them get through their shifts.

Items that are needed include: bottled water, Gatorade, energy or protein bars, chips, packaged cookies, and fruit.

These items can be dropped off at Ace Hardware in Buckhannon and will be picked up daily for delivery to the hospital. If you would like to make a financial donation, you can mail a check to Create Buckhannon, PO Box 991, Buckhannon, WV 26201 and the items will be purchased.

If your church, business, or organization would like to help in another way, please contact Buck Edwards or any member of Create Buckhannon. Thanks for your consideration and help!
