BUCKHANNON — On July 4, 2022, at approximately 8:16 a.m., 41-year-old, Seth Imhoff entered without breaking a building by a hole previously cut in the wall. Imhoff then stole copper from within the structure.
Imhoff was captured on film committing the act. In a video-recorded interaction on July 6 with Trooper First Class Turansky of the West Virginia State Police Buckhannon Detachment, Imhoff admitted to entering the building.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined Imhoff was with his girlfriend, 27-year-old Michelle Tomey, during the time of the theft and she had prior knowledge of what items resided inside the building. Tomey waited outside while the Imhoff entered the building and then proceeded to use her car to transport the stolen copper.
Imhoff in currently in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on one felony for entering without breaking, one felony for entry of a building other than dwelling, and one felony for conspiracy. His bail was set at $20,000.
Tomey was charged with one felony offense for conspiracy and has a bail of $10,000.
