Congressman Alex X. Mooney announces Coronavirus Relief Grants for West Virginia Education System


WASHINGTON, D.C. — Friday, Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) announced a total of $17,595,872 in emergency U.S. Department of Education grants for West Virginia, authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. These include the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund and Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEER) Fund institution allocations. 

“These Department of Education grants are important coronavirus funds that will enable students to continue to learn and grow in their schools, as well as provide relief amid disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic,” said Congressman Mooney.
