Chamber recognizes pharmacy at Community Care

BUCKHANNON — Community Care of West Virginia’s Buckhannon pharmacy celebrated its one-year anniversary with an open house Monday.

The Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce joined the celebration in the afternoon with a ribbon cutting.

Dr. Kathy Phillips, the pharmacist in charge, brings 15 years of experience to the pharmacy, including the last four with Community Care of West Virginia.

In addition to dispensing prescription medicine, CCWV’s pharmacy provides specialized services such as medication therapy management. The pharmacy accepts patients from all providers.

“We are actually owned by Community Care of West Virginia, so we work closely with all of our providers but especially our Community Care of West Virginia providers,” Phillips said.

The pharmacy, located at
37 W. Main St., across from the Upshur County Courthouse, is open Monday-Thursday from
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Phillips said, “I like working in Buckhannon because this is my hometown. We have lived here for nine years now and I like the aspect of being able to serve my community.”

In a press release, Rick Simons, CEO of Community Care of W.Va., said, “We are pleased to provide pharmacy services to our community. Our goal is always to provide the highest quality service to our patients in both our health centers and pharmacies. The staff at the Buckhannon pharmacy are able to provide great service in a very personalized way for patients.”
