BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat and Lady Bobcat swim teams continue to impress as they easily downed Alderson Broaddus last Saturday in a home dual meet.
The men won all 10 events as they downed the Battlers by a 152-8 score while the women took seven of 10 events winning by a 126-49 score.
Earning the eight individual wins for the Bobcats were Michael McAlpine in the 200 free (1:53.21) and the 100 back (57.12), Arthur Assfeld in the 50 free (21.51) and the 500 free (5:04.27), Logan Knoyer in the 200 IM (2:08.03), Mikel Mugarza in the 100 fly (57.25), Dominik Schopper in the 100 free (51.10) and Marc Bennett in the 100 breast (1:04.76).
Picking up relay wins were the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle.
On the women’s side, getting individual firsts were Rylee Jackson in the 200 free (2:02.64), Morgan Choffin in the 200IM (2:24.19) and the 100 fly (1:03.79), Ashton Cole in the 100 back (1:05.22) and Kay Lange in the 100 breast (1:14.10).
The Wesleyan women’s B team won both the 200 medley and the 200 relay events.
Both teams were slated to compete last Friday in a road dual meet at Indiana University (Pa.).
They will swim again in the two-day Ohio Wesleyan Corbiere-Merion Invitational that begins this Friday and concludes Saturday.
